Los Angeles s’apprête à accueillir le gratin de la culture noire-américaine pour une nouvelle édition flamboyante des BET Awards. La cérémonie se tiendra le 9 juin prochain et sera diffusée en direct en France dans la nuit du lundi 9 au mardi 10 juin à 2h sur BET (Date et Horaire Métropole, ndlr). Cette année encore, quatre artistes français sont en lice pour décrocher un prestigieux trophée.
Kendrick Lamar, grand favori avec 10 nominations
La compétition s’annonce féroce et résolument éclectique. En tête des nominations, Kendrick Lamar fait figure de favori avec 10 catégories, dont les très convoitées "Album of the Year" pour GNX, "Video of the Year" pour Not Like Us, et "Best Collaboration" pour Like That, aux côtés de Future et Metro Boomin. Le rappeur californien, toujours aussi engagé et innovant, pourrait bien repartir avec les bras chargés de trophées.
La scène féminine est également mise à l’honneur. Doechii, étoile montante du rap US, décroche 6 nominations, notamment pour son album Alligator Bites Never Heal, la vidéo puissante Denial is a River, et dans la catégorie "Best Female Hip Hop Artist". Autre prétendante sérieuse : GloRilla, également citée 6 fois, avec Glorious en lice pour l’album de l’année, et des collaborations remarquées avec Tyler, The Creator (Sticky) et d'autres.
Drake et Future, incontournables piliers du hip-hop contemporain, totalisent chacun 6 nominations. Le premier séduit avec $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, le second, en tandem avec Metro Boomin, impose We Don’t Trust You comme un incontournable. SZA et The Weeknd, respectivement nommés 4 fois, complètent ce tableau de stars, reflétant la richesse et la diversité de la musique R&B et hip-hop actuelle.
La France bien représentée : 4 artistes en lice
Côté international, la France confirme sa présence avec panache. Dans la catégorie "Best International Act", SDM et Joé Dwèt Filé défendront les couleurs tricolores face à une sélection d'artistes venus du monde entier. Quant à Merveille et Dr Yaro, ils sont nommés dans la catégorie "Best New International Act", prouvant que la nouvelle génération francophone ne cesse de monter en puissance sur la scène mondiale.
Les BET Awards 2025 s’annoncent comme une véritable célébration de la créativité noire mondiale. Une cérémonie où se côtoient icônes établies, révélations et collaborations explosives, à suivre en direct sur BET dans la nuit du 9 au 10 juin à 2h, puis en version sous-titrée le jeudi 12 juin à 23h.
Un rendez-vous musical immanquable, où la France pourrait, une fois encore, tirer son épingle du jeu.
